test cases for spec examples? [was: Editorial comments]

I think we have tests that correspond to many of the examples
in the spec. We had a TODO for automatically extracting them
to keep them in sync, but we dropped it before last call.

Does anybody want to pick it up?


I suppose it's not critical; I don't think the test cases
will be translated.

If I were an editor, I'd like to be able to do:

 make checkExamples

and get confirmation that the examples all have matching
test cases, or diagnostics a la...

 ...
 example 4.3 no longer matches test-nnn
 ...
 no test found for example 6.7
