I assume from the comments in your message, that you are talking about performing an aggregate function on the results of a query? This feature is implemented in several current RDF query languages, see for example the following links: iTQL: http://www.kowari.org/docs/itql.php#count RDFQL: http://www.intellidimension.com/default.rsp?topic=/pages/rdfgateway/ reference/db/select.rsp RQL: http://www2002.org/CDROM/refereed/329/ RDF Query: http://www1.coe.neu.edu/~srayavar/W3CQL/ql.htm Versa: http://www.aifb.uni-karlsruhe.de/WBS/pha/rdf-query/queries/versa/ Counting.versa > I would generally like to do the same thing with similar complexity > using RDF data sources, but I am not sure how much of this is in scope > of the the Data Access WG... This is an ongoing discussion, one that I personally expect to be dealt with by the group in due course. It's certainly an area that I see as being important, and one that I feel is better handled at the store level than the application level. Please review the notes from the 15 July 2004 teleconference for more details on the group's current thinking, a link will be posted to public-rdf-dawg when they become available.
