As with other errors, I think this error need not be raised if the merge action
does not refer to the merge-source in any way, because that means that only one
source needs to be read.

Correct me if I'm wrong about this, but the merge action was just a constant,
and I think that _might_ mean that the error is not thrown.

I propose to fix this by explicitly referring the source by using
current-merge-group.
