Bug ID: 24646
Summary: [F+O 3.0] Definition of deterministic, relevance of
execution scope
Product: XPath / XQuery / XSLT
Version: Last Call drafts
Hardware: PC
OS: All
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: Functions and Operators 3.0

In 1.6.4, the definition "[Definition] A function that is guaranteed to produce
·identical· results from repeated calls if
the explicit and implicit arguments are identical is referred to as
deterministic." should say "repeated calls within the same execution scope".
At present we carefully define the concept of execution scope and then fail to
make use of it in the definition of determinism.
