Please see https://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=22122 for a resolution of this comment - thank you! [[ Thank you for writing to us. The XSLT and XQuery WGs discussed this. In XPath 3.1 there will be (as you note) a new data structure, the map, which might well provide an alternative in the future. However, some of the parameters have intrnal sructure, so that XML elements seems not unreasonable. I will close this as WONFIX; we'd obviously be happy to revisit it for XPath 3.1, or to discuss options with you in more detail; reopen this bug if this resolution is not satifactory. On a personal note I'd be interested to know the practical reasons for not moving to XPath 3, but that's outside the scope of this issue ;-) Thanks! ]] Liam -- Liam Quin - XML Activity Lead, W3C, http://www.w3.org/People/Quin/ Pictures from old books: http://fromoldbooks.org/ Ankh: irc.sorcery.net irc.gnome.org freenode/#xml
