[Bug 13010] [F+O 3.0] Which version of IEEE 754?

The trigonometric functions are defined in terms of 754:2008. I've no 
idea whether 754:1985 defines these, or whether the definitions are the 
same. Having invested in a copy of the 754:2008 spec, I've no particular 
enthusiasm for buying a copy of 754:1985 just to find out whether it has 
changed.

I think we can be reasonably confident that there won't be any material 
changes to the definitions of double arithmetic, other than bug fixes, 
between the two: the spec is embodied in a lot of hardware.
