Martin, The XQuery and XSL Working Groups considered the I18N comment you sent at [1] item [13]: [13] For collations, namespaces, schemas, and so on, a "StringLiteral" rule is used, and the definitions say 'URI'. This has to be changed to IRI, and preferably a separate non-terminal should be used to make this clear. The Working Groups agreed that this is a good idea and will add a URILiteral non-terminal grammar production. We also note that although URI is used in places such as the AnyURI Schema type, the value space is actually that of an IRI, becuase the Schema specification references teh XLink definition, which copied the appropriate wording from the IRI spec. When the IETF IRI RFChasa number we'll be able to add a reference to it from the XQuery book. You also wrote, There should also be a clear indication how XML Base affects these. I believe this item has been addressed separately, and that such clarification will be in future versions of the document. Please let us know if this resolution is unsatisfactory. Many thanks!
