Dear colleagues, I am concerned about creating an ISO/IEC Tchnical Specification from EPUB 3.1. This is because the current edition of ISO/IEC TS 30135 will be superseded. As some people know, I was against mandating "3.1" as the value of the the version attribute in EPUB 3.1. Since EPUB 3.0 publications specify "3.0", they are not conformant against EPUB 3.1. A lot of EPUB publications in Japan are in EPUB 3.0, and most of them are unlikely to be converted to EPUB 3.1. If we create an ISO/IEC Tchnical Specification from EPUB 3.1, such EPUB 3.0 publications will not be backed by any ISO/IEC specifications. Regards, ISO/IEC JTC1/SC34/WG4 Convenor Head of Delegation of the Japanese SC34 mirror Makoto
