Dear Steering Committee, with CC to Avneesh and Richard Orme CEO, I know we are trying to figure out how to receive funds earmarked for EPUBcheck. I wanted to point out a few items: The DAISY Consortium is a charity in Switzerland. We also have US Fund for DAISY registered as a charity (501C(3)), in the USA. This means we can receive funds without being taxed. The DAISY Consortium has in the past helped organizations by setting up an account in our bookkeeping system for that company. Funds coming in were tracked in that account. We can report on these items separately. For example, we helped in the "Transforming Braille" project. Because we are under Swiss law, we have an audit of our accounts every year. The DAISY Board signs off on the audit. We now have the ability to take accept all major debit and credit cards from customers in every country. We can issue an invoice, and can include a button to for online payment through their secure platform. Funds arriving in USD go to US Fund for DAISY account. Other currencies go to a CHF account at Credit Swiss, but we can change this last bit. This has not been tested yet., and we have not tested for accessibility. We can also accept wire transfers and snail mail payments. I thought I should make this information available to the SC prior to our call tomorrow.
