FWIW, shepazu has released a Chrome extension very similar to what was
discussed and entirely based on URLs. Worth discussing with Doug, IMO.
It's very possible the URL contains some JSON-based data but still
(I have not tested it yet), it shows that a URL-based mechanism is
workable and implementable.
