Dear LDP group, The W3C Provenance working group has recently published an updated Provenance Access and Query document at http://www.w3.org/TR/2013/WD-prov-aq-20130312/. This document is destined to become a W3C NOTE. This document includes sections on service discovery and provenance "ping-back" which may be related to mechanisms you are working to specify. The section on provenance query services (http://www.w3.org/TR/2013/WD-prov-aq-20130312/#provenance-query-services) takes account of some discussions I had with some members of your group, and in p[articular some exchanges from about http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-ldp/2012Dec/0003.html. (The PROV WG has just agreed to further adjust the language so that the described RDF format is more clearly just one among equals.) The section on pingbacks (http://www.w3.org/TR/2013/WD-prov-aq-20130312/#forward-provenance) is intended to provide a way for a publisher to learn about additional provenance related to a published resource. We would be interested to hear from web services experts if they have any experience of using HTTP in this way, and if there are any known problems with the proposed approach. (The PROV WG has agreed to drop the implied directionality in the name used and description.) Thank you for your attention. #g --
