Dear Dan, all:

I just saw that you were discussing the use of the GoodRelations Web
vocabulary [1] for POI-related information in your recent conference
call [2].

I think it would make a lot of sense to generally use the respective
GoodRelations class,

for any points of business interest, e.g. stores, bus tops, museums,
hotels, restaurants, airports, etc.

In fact, that is already pretty popular on the Web. For instance,
BestBuy is publishing

- information about all of its > 1,000 US stores [3] and
- information about discounted "open-box" items on a per-store basis
[4] using this technique.

You can easily attach geo location information, address information,
and opening hours to such a node.

GoodRelations is syntax-neutral [5], i.e. you can express it in

 RDFa in HTML,
 OData, or

An example in RDFa syntax is available at

Best wishes
