As part of the overall architecture, there are service descriptors that label entities. This seems quite relevant to the AR side, as well as obviously the POI part. As part of that effort, the GEOPRIV working group in the IETF has been defining service URNs (RFC 5031) and is discussing how to extend the concept to more general services, such as "bank" or "restaurant". OpenStreet has some terms, but every incomplete and haphazard, i.e., not aligned with common "official" terminology as might be used in NAICS. > > I wonder if this should be part of the AR/POI WG discussion. Hello Henning, Interesting concept, I see some interesting use cases for location-based AR for this tech. However, I also see a lot of non-AR applications for this tech. I think the definition of service descriptors for general services should not be limited to an AR/POI group. As said, I can see these descriptors being used for more than geographic lookups, such as classifying web sites or web search results. If we're really going for "generic services" these descriptors can serve a much broader purpose than identification of geographic lookups. Also, the governing of service descriptors is probably a task that should have its own charter as it would not do to have that task end with the conclusion of this group's charter. I'm not very familiar with the field but isn't there a group in the semantic web community that concerns itself with standardising classifications such as these? If not, should we start one (separate from the POI/AR WG)? Regards, Jens
