We have so many problems with the US/UK variant spellings of @aria-labeledby/@aria-labelledby (ARIA uses the one extra "L" like the British version) that I would prefer to avoid words like localized/localised which have different spellings. That said, "localized role" more clearly distinguishes the purpose of this attribute than any other we've discussed, so to avoid the l18n problem, what if we shortened the proposed @aria-localizedrole to just @aria-locrole? PS. In case screen readers don't pronounce that correctly, @aria-locrole is "L O C role" pronounced, "loke role."
