@mountainhippo,

Yeah, and I think the proposed APIs/specs we have so far are touching on those goals. The Checkout API puts an emphasis on the first two and the Web Payments Browser API (and HTTP and Messaging specs) emphasize the last two, including having an eye on extensible, machine-readable semantics.
