@dlongley our charter has this to say on our goals: - A better checkout experience for users, particularly on mobile devices. The standards should facilitate automation, one approach to improving the user experience. - Streamlined payment flow, which is expected to reduce the percentage of transactions abandoned prior to completion ("shopping cart abandonment"). - Easier adoption of payment instrument improvements (e.g., related to security) or new payment instruments. - Added value through machine-readable digital payment requests and payment responses. @msporny - with regard to registration of payment instruments, we are chartered to deliver this [capability](https://www.w3.org/Payments/WG/charter-201510.html#capabilities) so you are absolutely right to raise the issue - because I don't think we've made much progress in this regard --- Reply to this email directly or view it on GitHub: https://github.com/w3c/webpayments/issues/89#issuecomment-185854091
