Hi all. I do understand that contributing does not mean that same as authoring. Authoring is about writing down all the feedback from contributors into a spec document (among other things) and that involves a lot of work. That's exactly the task in which I was deeply involved some time ago during the first versions of ORTC [*]. I did that in my spare time and could not keep my implication at the same level, sorry for that. Said that, it is now and not some months ago when I can get involved again (thanks to my current job) and I'll do that (after my holidays). I understand that the current spec has evolved a lot from the first approaches so if you consider that I should be removed as active author I'm fine with that. If so, option 2 (keep a section with "Previous Authors") seems good, but I would also suggest adding another one "Acknowledgments" in which active contributors are listed (as in so many drafts).
