Hello, W3C has approved the recharter of the Dataset Exchange Working Group today: https://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-dxwg-wg/2026Apr/0000.html Thank you, Xueyuan Jia, Manager, Member Communications -------- Forwarded Message -------- Subject: Call for Participation: Dataset Exchange Working Group Charter approved; Join the DXWG Date: Fri, 24 Apr 2026 21:59:52 +0800 From: Xueyuan Jia <xueyuan@w3.org> To: w3c-ac-members@w3.org Dear Advisory Committee Representative, [This announcement will be forwarded to W3C group chairs] W3C is pleased to announce the rechartering of the Dataset Exchange Working Group. https://www.w3.org/2026/04/dx-wg-charter.html The group is chartered through 27 April 2028. The mission of the Dataset Exchange Working Group is to: * Develop a W3C Recommendation for the interoperable exchange on the web of information on datasets at the variable level (Variable Description Vocabulary, VVD). * Maintain and revise the RDF Data Cube Vocabulary, QB, taking into account feature requests from the QB user community. * Maintain and revise the Data Catalog Vocabulary, DCAT, taking into account feature requests from the DCAT user community. * Define and publish guidance on the specification and use of application profiles when requesting and serving data on the web. Please use the following form to have your organization join or rejoin the group. The form will also instruct you on how to nominate participants: https://www.w3.org/groups/wg/dx/join/ Please consider diversity when proposing people to participate in W3C groups. Representation from a wider group of people, especially people from under-represented groups, is vital for creating web standards that meet the needs of the wider web community. If your organization is currently in the group, please note that you will need to have it rejoin the group as the new charter adds a new deliverable with licensing obligations under the W3C Patent Policy. This Call for Participation triggers the start of the 45-day grace period. See: https://www.w3.org/2020/09/15-pp-faq.html#recharter The group Chairs are Franck Cotton (W3C Invited Expert) and Albert Meroño-Peñuela (King's College London). The Staff Contact is Pierre-Antoine Champin <pierre-antoine@w3.org> for a total of 0.05 FTE. More information about the group can be found on the group home page: https://www.w3.org/groups/wg/dx/ [...] To see all changes relative to the proposed charter, follow this link: https://services.w3.org/htmldiff?doc1=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.w3.org%2F2026%2F02%2Fdx-wg-proposed-charter.html&doc2=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.w3.org%2F2026%2F04%2Fdx-wg-charter.html To see all changes relative to the previous charter, follow this link: https://services.w3.org/htmldiff?doc1=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.w3.org%2F2022%2F06%2Fdx-wg-charter.html&doc2=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.w3.org%2F2026%2F04%2Fdx-wg-charter.html This announcement follows section 5.7.2 of the W3C Process Document: https://www.w3.org/policies/process/20250818/#ACReviewAfter and the Call for Participation follows section 4.5 of the W3C Process Document: https://www.w3.org/policies/process/20250818/#cfp Thank you, For Philippe le Hégaret, VP, Technical Strategy, Pierre-Antoine Champin, Dataset Exchange Working Group Staff Contact; Xueyuan Jia, Manager, Member Communications
