Hello,
This is an early notice that the W3C Team, in conjunction with GS1, is
currently preparing a joint workshop on E-commerce for Humans and AI Agents.
Preliminary details on the workshop, including a draft Call for
Participation, are available at:
https://github.com/w3c/strategy/issues/544
This workshop aims to share experience of creating content with AI
Agents in mind. What practices are most effective? What are the
pitfalls? What shifts do content creators need to make in order to
maximize the return on the investment in time, energy and skill? The
impetus for the workshop is from e-commerce which will be a particular
focus of the event. However, the discussion is expected to be informed
by broader input related to content creation and publication.
The organizers are looking for feedback on whether this narrower focus
on e-commerce is a good way to seed conversations in this space.
Workshop logistics are still to be determined, but the expectation is
for a hybrid event in Europe during the first half of September 2026,
before TPAC 2026.
We welcome your general questions and comments regarding workshop
preparations. Please provide your input on the workshop's Strategy Issue at:
https://github.com/w3c/strategy/issues/544
This new proposal essentially supersedes [1] the earlier advance notice
[2] for the Workshop on AI Agents & the Web.
