Hello, This is an early notice that the W3C Team, in conjunction with the Internet Architecture Board (IAB), is currently preparing a joint workshop on Age-Based Restrictions on Content Access (formerly Child Safety on the Web). Preliminary details on the workshop, including a draft Call for Participation, are available at: https://github.com/w3c/strategy/issues/505 This workshop seeks to perform a thorough examination of the technical and architectural choices that are involved in deploying age-based restrictions on access to content. We do not expect to identify a single candidate solution, even if that might be an ideal outcome. The goal is to build a shared understanding of the properties of various proposed approaches. The workshop is expected to take place October 7-9, 2025, in London, UK (subject to timely progress), before TPAC 2025. We welcome your general questions and comments regarding workshop preparation. Please provide your input on the workshop's Strategy Issue at: https://github.com/w3c/strategy/issues/505 For further information, please contact Tara Whalen at tara@w3.org. Thank you, For Tara Whalen, W3C Privacy Lead Xueyuan Jia, W3C Marketing & Communications
