Hello, The W3C Advisory Committee received an advance notice today that the W3C team invites input on the possible charter of a Commerce Interest Group. The charter of the Web Payments Interest Group (WPIG) [1] expires 30 September 2017. The group has begun to revise its charter, expanding the scope of its work beyond payments, consistent with practice: Commerce Interest Group Charter https://www.w3.org/2017/03/commerce-charter.html Quoting the draft charter: The mission of the Commerce Interest Group is to improve Commerce on the Web for users, merchants, and other stakeholders. The Interest Group fosters discussions within W3C and with other organizations about how to improve the Web to address an expanding set of user, industry, and regulatory needs. Through discussion, the Interest Group identifies the interoperability needs of industry related to Commerce, and corresponding standardization opportunities for W3C. We welcome feedback on the WPIG's public mailing list: <public-webpayments-ig@w3.org> (archive [2]). Members may also discuss on <w3c-ac-forum@w3.org>. We expect to start formal review by the Advisory Committee before the end of July. If you have any questions or need further information, please contact Ian Jacobs <ij@w3.org>. This announcement follows section 5.2.2 of the W3C Process Document: https://www.w3.org/2017/Process-20170301/#WGCharterDevelopment Thank you, Xueyuan Jia, W3C Marketing & Communications [1] https://www.w3.org/2014/04/payments/webpayments_charter.html [2] https://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-webpayments-ig/
