Hello! I represent here, along with @Robin Berjon (as i understand) - the friendly (i hope) CG of Augmented Reality http://www.w3.org/community/ar/ - I live in Ukraine, professionally - i'm an UX-UI designer, IT architect, as a hobby - developing one of the XCCC (XMPP-Concurrent-Confederation-Consortium, we think our X3C as accurate as W3C :) networks (http://primarypad.com/OeMj2ZnZqo) - http://pyofwave.info/ ; working with http://theFNF.org/ for a FreedomBases which are essentially - the FreedomBoxes (https://www.freedomboxfoundation.org - you might heard about) on top of which - FreedomNodes that are the Wireless Mesh layer + advanced storage system. Purpose of FreedomBases is - provide the FLOSS with Free like in Freedom, portable, private or community owned servers which could securely and reliably host all the personal data, including Augmented Reality's highly-accurate GIS, and other DB's. In all my projects (personal or community involved) - i have a strong position for secure, respectful, self-owned persisting of any personal Data, By that - almost all my projects are FLOSS :) I might be too rough on some topics but i always try to respectfully quote the peoples thoughts, work for Freedom - as i feel it, never be abusive or intrude into personal states. My English syntax - eventually - not so fluent, so - i could repeat and re-phrase any of my messages, on demand, please, feel free to demand. - @Brian LeRoux > - sensor apis > - data apis and web intents > - api privileges / capabilities > - packaging, signing and distribution > - javascript as a compilation target and module reuse all these - are important topics for W3C AR CG, so - i'm excited already ..hope the Co-Chairs would support. I think - our CG's would work together on certain topics. > Beyond even these, rather ambitious, topics I would also like to see > this group rethink existing APIs. The web as it is standardized today > is verbose and has poor symmetry requiring unnecessary boilerplate and > libraries. I envision a future were all we've learned as a community > gets incorporated to the platform --- falling back to polyfills and > shims has worked well so far but we very much should free ourselves of > those hacks and look to what the web as a first class development > platform would look like. For me - It's great to see that PhoneGap's, by that - marvelous FLOSS developer is helping the Native Web Apps experience - on all the fields. @Scott Wilson - Nice to meet you here! I'v read your article - https://scottbw.wordpress.com/2011/08/25/mozilla-web-api-friend-or-foe/ now -- i add the conclusion of @Marcos Caceres from a comment on - https://hacks.mozilla.org/2011/08/introducing-webapi/ adding the Mozilla B2G as a great reference platform for WebAPI's, adding the PhoneGap as a greatest(IMO) among existent -- Native Web Apps framework add a Mozilla's clarification article - https://hacks.mozilla.org/2011/08/more-details-about-the-webapi-effort/ What i see as an equation - is a very nice potential - for a situation of a further collaboration.) - What do You think of other initiatives like WAC and it's chances to work productively with WebAPI for a one final DAP? - How do You see the work of this CG among these Groups? -- PS: @Scott Wilson "open app stores" among other - are in a scope of Unhosted.org project, i'm evaluating for FreedomBases, currently, what do you think of that project? Do you see - as a possibility - the creation and promotion in Apache's community - that kind of Stores?
