Welcome to the Native Web Apps Community Group!

 Hi All,
Welcome to the group! It would be great if we could have a quick round of introductions.

As most people just joined, you probably have not read the following kick off email from Brian LeRoux:

It would be great if everyone could send a brief bio, maybe company you work for or if you are here on a solo capacity, and discuss your interests and expectations for this group. It would also be great if you could say what kind of contribution you could make (e.g., javascript, c++/Wekbit, java/Android) or spec writer.

So… I'm Marcos Caceres; I'm here on an independent capacity and currently work for myself as a freelancer (mostly doing standards). I've been working on standards stuff for about 5-6 years, mostly on the W3C Widget specs. Until a few months ago, I was a platform architect/team lead at Opera Software where my team created Opera extensions, developed some device APIs, and generally maintained Opera's widget related stuff.

My interest in this group is fairly obvious: I've been the main spec driver of the W3C Widget stuff since its started and would really like to see if its actually suitable to use for packaging native apps built with Web standards.

I can contribute in the following ways: javascript, spec writing… maybe a little Java/Android stuff, but I'm still learning Android. I'm doing this in my spare time, so I can probably contribute a few hours a week.

You can find me lurking on the W3C IRC channel for this group:

Looking forward to working with you guys!

Kind regards,
Marcos
