Hi all. The usage of Domain we (Cocomore and I) are doing in the use case of the “CMS to TMS System” is satisfied with global rules, but if there are implementation scenarios where the local approach will be useful or the only way to apply this data category, I would not be against a modification of the ITS 2.0 specification to add this new feature. I think that the milestones related with the test suite (with the exception of M3 – 31st Jan) would not be affected by adding new test cases for the local Domain usage. We are going to do that already with the new Language Information test case. Cheers. __________________________________ Mauricio del Olmo Martínez Dpto. Hi Christian, and domain implementers, put in CC taken from http://tinyurl.com/its20-testsuite-dashboard at domain implementers: could you please prepare yourself to give an opinion on the proposal of local domain markup on the Wednesday call? If you can't attend, can you please state your opinion in this thread? Thanks, Felix Am 29.01.13 16:22, schrieb Lieske, Christian: Hi, One of my comments related to “domain” (see http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-multilingualweb-lt-comments/2013Jan/0022.html) was the following: 1. As it stands, "domain" only allows "pointing". Some scenarios may require a "direct encoding" (e.g. via something like its-domain="financials") Jörg summarized the e-mail exchange related to this as follows (see http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-multilingualweb-lt-comments/2013Jan/0143.html): == 1. has not been resolved so far. The proposed new feature would allow for the direct encoding (either through a string value, or an URI/IRI) of domain information. This feature is supported by at least two implementers (Pablo and Yves) with their implementation scenarios (machine translation application, and ITS/XLIFF mapping -- XLIFF does not have a domain concept). Since the ITS 2.0 domain category has already been implemented by several (> 5 organizations) including appropriate test instances, and given the overall process and time frame of ITS 2.0, it is suggested to reject this comment, and to open an RFE (ie. new feature/feature extension) for future ITS versions. == >From my understanding, we were waiting for comments from the implementers (see Felix’ request to them in http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-multilingualweb-lt-comments/2013Jan/0090.html) related to the possibility to implement.
