Dear All, First accept my apologies for missing the telephone conference; I am not familiar with W3C procedures. I expected a notification email that the group had started to work, since I reported my interest to participate about six months ago. I am Joakim Söderberg, senior research engineer at Ericsson research. I hold a PhD in multimedia indexing from ENST Paris, and my published work includes articles on semantic feature extraction, image modeling and understanding. The current focus of my work is on media analysis and metadata description. At present I am working on a representation framework for digital content metadata. So my concerns are importing, translating and hosting metadata about different content types. The different metadata standards that I consider are MPEG-7, MPEG-21, TV-Anytime, Cable labs and Dublin Core. Then there are proprietary formats from ImDB, AMG and LastFm etc. Some other issues I have came across are item matching (how do you identify a work), distinction between description of the work (editorial metadata) and its instantiations (manifestations) and cross content recommendations. I look forward to work with you and I hope we will produce some really interesting results. Best regards Joakim
