Re: What is the position of the IDCG wrt using the diversity fund for Kim Crayton's antiracist workshop? (was: Urgent - Re: IDCG volunteers for the W3C's Diversity Fund selection committee (2020))

I'm happy to suggest to the funders that they do this (and as a funder  
would support dedicating some of "my" money there). I am would not support  
spending 50% of the total fund raised on it, but would support an initial  
request for up to maybe 25%.

I would like to see us assess what we did, rather than go all in once and  
not be able to get support for repeating, when we could have done that  
 from existing funds more cautiously invested.

I have been given a number of DEI training sessions over the last 25  
years, and some have been far more useful than others. Indeed, some are  
much more relevant to a given person than others. I think we should do  
some of this, consider what we learned and the feedback, and then do more.
