A number of comments have been made recently about the Best Practice X:... headings and the text on blue background that follows. I have been avoiding a systematic review of these so far, but I decided it was time to give it a go. You can find a first draft proposal at http://www.w3.org/International/its/techniques/temp.html It may need a few additional tweaks, but I'd like people to review this and approve the changes. I have phrased the headings to be [1] short, and [2] identify a task the developer would have in mind (though of course they may be unaware of some of these tasks until they have read the document once) rather than repeat the advice in the text on a blue background. The text on blue background has been improved to better summarise (albeit at a high level) the advice in the text of the best practice. This will be useful when these guidelines are used outside the context of the current document (eg. somewhere like the list of best practices under http://www.w3.org/International/techniques/language#textprocessing). These changes also bring the text more into line with the other best practices document formats we are working on in the Core WG. Thoughts?
