Re: ITS Teleconference - Jul-26-2011

Hi all again,

after talking to Christian about the "transliteration" topic I understand
that I had a misunderstanding: the "transliteration / NLP" data category is
meant as a directive, in the sense of "this piece of content could be
objective to further processes", like the directive of the "Translate" data
category saying "this piece of content should be translated". With this
definition, it does not make sense to use the BCP 47 proposed extension for
"transliteration / NLP", since the extension is not a directive, but
provides information about the result of the transliteration or other
transformation processes. It may may make sense to explain the role between
"transliteration / NLP" and the BCP 47 extension in a note, but there is no
need to cite the extension formally.
