At http://dev.w3.org/html5/spec/the-rp-element.html we see the following example of markup for ruby, including fallback parentheses: <ruby>漢<rp> (</rp><rt>かん</rt><rp>) </rp>字<rp> (</rp><rt>じ</rt><rp>) </rp></ruby> This example uses 0020 SPACE ( 0028 LEFT PARENTHESIS Assuming that that is the kind of parenthesis that the user wants to use (rather than say a square corner, for example) should it actually just use ( FF08 FULLWIDTH LEFT PARENTHESIS Same idea for the right paren. ie. <ruby>漢<rp>(</rp><rt>かん</rt><rp>)</rp>字<rp>(</rp><rt>じ</rt> <rp>)</rp></ruby> Or should it be U+0028 without the space?
