@zoghal thank you for replying. However, even if Persian digits are substituted, the minus sign still ends up on the wrong side, unless i'm missing something. See an extended version of the [test case](https://w3c.github.io/i18n-tests/exploratory/index.html?text=%3Cp%20dir%3D%22rtl%22%3E%D8%B4%D9%85%D8%A7%D8%B1%D9%87%20-23%20%D8%B4%D9%85%D8%A7%D8%B1%D9%87%3C%2Fp%3E%0A%3Cp%20dir%3D%22rtl%22%3E%D8%B4%D9%85%D8%A7%D8%B1%D9%87%20-%DB%B1%DB%B2%20%D8%B4%D9%85%D8%A7%D8%B1%D9%87%3C%2Fp%3E&css=.test%20%7B%20%20%7D&lang=pes&fontSize=53&width=500&height=290&a=Persian%20negative%20numbers%20automatically%20have%20a%20minus%20sign%20on%20the%20left.&i=Test%20passes%20if%20the%20minus%20sign%20is%20to%20the%20left%20of%20the%20digits.). How do authors get the minus sign in the right place, irrespective of the digits used? -- GitHub Notification of comment by r12a Please view or discuss this issue at https://github.com/w3c/alreq/issues/288#issuecomment-2845088153 using your GitHub account -- Sent via github-notify-ml as configured in https://github.com/w3c/github-notify-ml-config
