In the "Allowed ARIA State and Property Attributes:" section of the draft spec for the link element, at: http://www.w3.org/html/wg/drafts/html/master/semantics.html#the-link-element there is a seemingly spurious line that reads: "For <code>role</code> value " This seems to be a cut/paste error (if not, then it needs further clarification).
