> OK Sam, today I cannot disprove that fact But I can prove it. According to my Sent folder I sent the 204 straw poll to public-html@w3.org at 10:18 EDT on Friday. At the time I was on the phone with Philippe and Sam. I forwarded the message to public-html-a11Y@w3.org at 10:25am. The delay was simply caused by the fact that I did this DURING a Chairs meeting. The message bounced and I immediately informed Philippe on the phone that we had the same problem as 2 weeks ago. I sent the attached email to Philippe and the W3C System Team at 10:31am. > My request however remains as originally stated: with regard to accessibility related emails I request that all 3 Chairs take special care to include the a11yTF mailing list in significant notices that may be of importance to the accessibility community. First I want to point out that EVERYONE on the A11Y TF is already a member of the HTMLWG so they should already be getting the public-html@w3.org emails. If this is not the case then we have a separate problem. Second I certainly try to forward important emails to the TF as shown above. Sometimes the Chairs may fail to do this but you can be assured that we are NOT trying to hide anything form the TF. Third if a TF member finds something on public-html@w3.org that they think should be re-posted to public-html-a11Y@w3.org they should feel free to do this. Always depending on the Chairs to do this is unnecessary. /paulc HTML WG co-chair Paul Cotton, Microsoft Canada 17 Eleanor Drive, Ottawa, Ontario K2E 6A3 Tel: (425) 705-9596 Fax: (425) 936-7329 -----Original Message----- From: John Foliot [mailto:john@foliot.ca] Sent: Friday, July 27, 2012 5:18 PM To: 'Sam Ruby' Cc: 'HTML Accessibility Task Force'; Paul Cotton; 'Maciej Stachowiak'; public-html@w3.org Subject: RE: A request concerning a11y related emails Sam Ruby wrote: > > That's simply because I knew in advance that such emails would bounce, > and that PLH would be forwarding them appropriately once the problem > was corrected. My request however remains as originally stated: with regard to accessibility related emails I request that all 3 Chairs take special care to include the a11yTF mailing list in significant notices that may be of importance to the accessibility community. For another example, this notice of July 12 (that certainly has accessibility concerns attached to it) was also not forwarded to the a11yTF list: ISSUE-194: full-transcript - Straw Poll for Objections http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-html/2012Jul/0070.html http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-html-a11y/2012Jul/ You can remain defensive, or the Chairs can commit to taking the extra care as requested - up to you. I will drop this subject now. JF
