It would be good if the W3C team would clarify whether they are actually 
prepared to run a registry (my understanding from previous discussions 
was that they are not, but maybe this has changed).

That being said, I don't think the @rel registry should go there (but 
that's a separate discussion). On the other hand, there *is* at least 
one registry that I'd support moving into W3C space (meta/@name).
