Registration for TPAC2010 is now open (until 22 October): TPAC 2010 1-5 November Lyon, France http://www.w3.org/2010/11/TPAC/ The HTML WG will be meeting F2F on Thu-Fri Nov 4-5. The W3C TPAC organizers invite you to: (1) review the week calendar and schedule for group meetings: http://www.w3.org/2010/11/TPAC/#Schedule (2) register (more below): http://www.w3.org/2010/11/TPAC/#Registration (3) make your hotel reservation (more below): http://www.w3.org/2010/11/TPAC/#Accommodation ------------------------------------------ On registration and registration fees ------------------------------------------ There is a daily registration fee to offset meeting costs. The fee goes up for those who have not registered by 22 October. As in the past, registration is a two-step process: 1) completing a registration form: http://www.w3.org/2002/09/wbs/35125/TPAC2010reg/ 2) using a payment system: http://www.w3.org/2010/11/tpac_reg.php A lot more information about registration fees, the payment system, and other relevant information is available on the TPAC 2010 home page: http://www.w3.org/2010/11/TPAC/#Registration ------------------------------------------ On accommodations: please reserve your room early ------------------------------------------ W3C has not reserved a block of rooms for this meeting, however W3C has negotiated a discount rate at one of the hotels. Though there are several hotels convenient to the meeting location, we strongly recommend that you reserve your rooms early in order to be able to take advantage of this discount. (for example, before September). For more information about accommodations, see: http://www.w3.org/2010/11/TPAC/#Accommodation Please let the WG Chairs know if you have any questions. Please see the meeting and venue information below my signature block. WGs can meet either on Mon-Tue Nov 1-2 or on Thu-Fri Nov 4-5. The Technical Plenary all day event is on Wed Nov 3. The W3C Advisory Committee will meet on the evening of Tue Nov 2 and the morning of Thu Nov 4. The WG co-chairs recommend that the HTML WG accept the TPAC offer to meet F2F in Lyon, France: a) the HTML WG has had F2F meetings in the past at TPAC meetings in Europe, b) the Chairs recommend that the HTML WG meet F2F on Thu-Fri Nov 4-5 at the TPAC meetings in Lyon, France, c) the chairs encourage WG members to attend the Technical Plenary that will be held on Wed Nov 3, c) the Chairs propose that the following draft agenda for the WG meeting: - we will use an unconference style [1] similar to what we did in Nov 2009 to permit participants to propose important, timely discussion topics, - the Chairs want to encourage that the testing of HTML5 (and associated specs) be one of focus areas of the meeting, - coordination with other WGs such as WebApps WG, I18N WG, W3C TAG, RDFa WG, P&F WG and possibly ECMA TC39 (see below), - review of Last Call comments and/or change proposals (if we are in Last Call). The Hypertext Coordination Group has discussed the scheduling of some related WG meetings and is currently using the following "tentative" schedule for the week. Note that other WGs will be meeting at TPAC2010 as well - this is only a partial list of WGs. Mon-Tue Nov 1-2 WebApps WG XML Security PF WG (possible meeting of HTML WG Accessibility TF) CSS WG MMI WG MathML WG I18N Core WG ECMA TC39 (to facilitate a joint meeting with WebApps WG) Notes: The W3C has invited ECMA T39 to meet in Lyon on Mon-Tue Nov 1-2. This meeting is not yet confirmed. The W3C Working Group, Technical Plenary and Advisory Committee meetings week (TPAC 2010), will be held in Lyon, France at "Cité Centre de Congrès de Lyon" [1], from 1 to 5 November. We are aware that these dates are the week before the ISWC and IETF meetings;\ we tried diligently to find a convenient venue that was available on another week but unfortunately due to our late start on that task we found few viable alternatives. [1] http://www.ccc-lyon.com/ The Centre de Congrès de Lyon is a very large conference facility with many amenities in a single area. It is also the venue chosen for the 2012 World Wide Web conference (which fact contributed to our getting favorable terms for the facility). There are 3 hotels housed within the conference center proper and many other hotels nearby and throughout Lyon. A list of hotels at various price ranges as well as other details will be included on an overview page we will send shortly. The current plan is to hold Group meetings on Monday 1 Nov, Tuesday 2 Nov, Thursday 4 Nov, and Friday 5 November. The Technical Plenary Day will be held all day Wednesday 3 November. The AC Executive Session will start on the evening of Tuesday 2 November and will be continued in the morning of Thursday 5 November. A registration fee of 40 Euros per day will be charged to defray a portion of the costs of the venue and necessary services.
