Summary: No whitespace before "<!DOCTYPE HTML" in content
sniffing
Product: HTML WG
Version: unspecified
Platform: All
OS/Version: All
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: Spec bugs
AssignedTo: dave.null@w3.org
ReportedBy: simonp@opera.com
QAContact: public-html-bugzilla@w3.org
CC: ian@hixie.ch, mike@w3.org, public-html@w3.org
2.7.4 Content-Type sniffing: unknown type says in the table:
FF FF DF DF DF DF DF DF DF FF DF DF DF DF 3C 21 44 4F 43 54 59 50 45 20
48 54 4D 4C text/html Scriptable The string "<!DOCTYPE HTML"
in US-ASCII or compatible encodings, case-insensitively.
Any reason why whitespace before the doctype isn't skipped (considering that
whitespace is skipped before "<HTML", "<HEAD" and "<SCRIPT")?
