The following are some "Do's and Don'ts" around where to respond to new bugzilla issues for which notifications are posted here. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Do's ----------------------------------------------------------------- 1. If you want to follow an issue for which a notification has been posted here, set up a bugzilla account and add yourself to the Cc field in the bugzilla page for the issue. 2. If you want to post a comment in reply to a bugzilla issue, set up a bugzilla account and post your comment in bugzilla (not on the list). ----------------------------------------------------------------- Dont's ----------------------------------------------------------------- 1. Please do not reply directly to newly raised bugzilla issues on this list. 2. Please do not forward copies of any bugzilla messages at all to this list. About Don't #2 above: While I can understand people wanting to keep the list informed about issues they have raised in bugzilla, I don't think forwarding copies of bugzilla messages to the list is the best way to do that. Alternative ways include posting a summary of some kind (if you choose to) to this list after a round of discussion has taken place around the issue in bugzilla. Note also that Shawn Medero has already agreed to take time each week review all the bugzilla traffic for the previous week and to write up a weekly "summary of all active issues under discussion in bugzilla" mail message that he'll post here. Again, I appreciate everybody's understanding and patience as we work on finding our way with making the best use of this tool. --Mike -- Michael(tm) Smith http://people.w3.org/mike/ http://sideshowbarker.net/
