Unless I'm mistaken, Dojo uses role attributes in the http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml2 namespace on HTML elements. I would guess that Firefox supports that attribute. I am not aware of any content that uses the role attribute in the http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml namespace and I don't think Firefox supports it. Given this, I would suggest to allow the role attribute in the http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml2 namespace on any element and that it takes precesense over role attributes in no namespace on elements in the http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml namespace, and forget about the role attribute in the http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml namespace. Otherwise I agree with the proposal. :-) -- Simon Pieters Opera Software
