The unfortunate reality is, I too, would like to get rid of Flash and Silverlight. But the way that EME/CDMs are specified, and the way that they are implemented and the way that no specification is released on the CDM, leaves me no choice than to advice my clients that they continue to use Flash/Silverlight because HTML-DRM is no feasible alternative. That is sad, and certainly not in the interest of the HTML-WG. But despite this reality, my pleas fall on deaf ears because For Netflix, Google and Microsoft, everything is perfect.
