Formal objections are considered by the Director when the specification goes thru a transition review. If they are not considered when this specification transitions into Candidate Recommendation status then they will be considered no later than when the specification transitions out of CR to Proposed Recommendation status. /paulc Paul Cotton, Microsoft Canada 17 Eleanor Drive, Ottawa, Ontario K2E 6A3 Tel: (425) 705-9596 Fax: (425) 936-7329 -----Original Message----- From: David Singer [mailto:singer@apple.com] Sent: Monday, August 04, 2014 12:25 PM To: Sam Ruby Cc: public-html-admin@w3.org; Edward O'Connor; James Craig Subject: Re: WG Decision: Request transition of Image Description to Candidate Recommendation On Aug 2, 2014, at 7:26 , Sam Ruby <rubys@intertwingly.net> wrote: > Alternatively, if Ted or anybody else wishes to raise a Formal Objection with or without addressing the requirements and use cases, they are welcome to do so at this time. Be aware that the meeting with the Director on this subject is likely to occur early this week, most likely on Tuesday afternoon. While I appreciate you giving us notice of this meeting, I think we would prefer to consider a possible formal objection carefully, and not rush into a decision on whether to file one or what it might contain. We are considering it. I am not aware of any formal deadline for filing a formal objection here, but that may be ignorance on my part. Please let me know if there is one.
