I support what HTML5 says, that UAs are encouraged to repair for lack of @alt. @title is an obvious repair candidate. But the CP does not require that @title must be used for repair. With regard to 'separate functionality': any repair for missing @alt risks blurring some picture. -- Leif H Silli
