FW: HTML5 Licensing Preference Poll: Which license should be used for the W3C HTML5 specifications?

Janina asked me to forward this announcement to the A11Y TF.

Note that this is a preference poll (not a survey of objections) and therefore the Chairs encourage anyone that is a member of the HTML WG to provide a response giving their license preference.

Subject: HTML5 Licensing Preference Poll: Which license should be used for the W3C HTML5 specifications?

On March 31, the HMTL WG chairs announced the opening of a discussion period on three HTML5 licensing options [1] offered to the HTML WG by the W3C Management and Team.  During the WG discussions Mozilla asked that any survey on these options include the CC0 and MIT licenses as alternatives.

The preference poll on these licensing options is now available and will run through Thursday May 5:

PLEASE NOTE THAT UNLIKE MANY OTHER WG SURVEYS THIS IS A PREFERENCE POLL AND WE ENCOURAGE ALL WG MEMBERS TO INDICATE THEIR LICENSE PREFERENCE.
