Sure, I meant this issue doesn't belong here in the first place. Though this point in particular is relevant. :-) I don't necessarily remember all the details you are asking for anymore, but I think for transforms we didn't have a way to represent interpolations with percentages (we do now, via transform-mix()). For images (e.g. linear-gradient()), I think interpolation was just not defined at all? Unsure what the status of that is now.
