I'd also like to discuss the idea of using small polyfills to smooth over some browser differences. For example, I believe Widevine on Chrome uses a special message exchange in place of setServerCertificate, but this can easily be polyfilled in JS so that the API works per the specification. ...Mark Sent from my iPhone On Jun 20, 2016, at 4:56 PM, Jerry Smith (WPT) <jdsmith@microsoft.com> wrote: John Simmons and Iraj Sodagar from Microsoft will be joining the call tomorrow as well. They have been working to line up resources for EME Test Suite development, and have a test proposal to discuss. It briefly is: 1. Use Google’s Clear Key tests and extend them for multi-DRM. A multi-DRM signaling component would be included in the tests. 2. Use CableLabs (Greg Rutz) to develop the tests for multi-DRM case. 3. Use CastLabs to host the DRM license servers for W3C. CastLabs has a multi-DRM support service already that this would leverage. 4. Run the tests. If others agree with this approach, we believe it can be started soon.
