Top down gives us standards that only a telco could love. This is a completely different situation. Newcommer (HTML) vs. incumbent (Gopher) is different than a situation with several strong contestants (Diaspora, DFRN2, etc). We already have good standards built bottom-up. Time to agree on some and work from there. > Join a project and start working on code or documentation that you like. > Theres more than enough to work to go around. Are you suggesting that any work on this list is a waste of time and instead I should go and code on one of the many different and incompatible federated social networking protocols and solutions (or just give up entirely)? Because I am starting to get this picture myself, so a nice and clear vocalisation of this would be helpful indeed. -- Pozdrawiam Michał "rysiek" Woźniak Fundacja Wolnego i Otwartego Oprogramowania
