EPUB 3 Working Group now closed

Dear EPUB 3 Working Group Participants,

The EPUB 3 Working Group [1] is now closed.

The mission of the EPUB 3 Working Group was to maintain and develop the
EPUB 3 family of specifications, to represent the EPUB community in the
W3C, and to support EPUB 3 content creators and consumers by further
advancing, refining, and clarifying the current EPUB 3 specification.

In parallel with the chartering of the Publishing Maintenance Working
Group today [2], the EPUB 3 Working Group and Audiobooks Working Group
are now closed.

The EPUB WG has finished its chartered work by publishing the EPUB
Specifications as Recommendations. The Audiobooks WG was in Maintenance
mode for the Publication Manifest and Audiobooks Recommendations. As
described in its charter [3], the Publishing Maintenance Working Group
[4] will take over the maintenance of the deliverables of both the EPUB
and Audiobooks Working Groups.

W3C thanks all the participants in the group for their efforts.

If you have any further questions, please contact Ivan Herman,
<ivan@w3.org>, Publishing Maintenance Working Group Team Contact.

This announcement follows section 4.6 of the W3C Process Document [5].
