Thanks for the clarification, Gregorio.    However, your comment remains incorrect.

PDF also fully supports the exact same ARIA roles, including the DPUB-ARIA extensions from this WG.   See ISO 32000-2, 14.8.5.2.

Dear Leonard,

regarding my previous statement, I meant to say that in EPUB FXL, we fully utilize the semantics provided by the Open Web Platform, particularly HTML5 and ARIA roles (with a particular focus on DPUB ARIA roles), which are increasingly natively supported by assistive technologies. Thanks to this technology, we have the possibility to semantically tag even very specific elements of publications such as glossaries, pull quotes, cover, etc.

I hope that clarifies my previous statement.
