> we don't have a conventional way to automatically validate data instances of application profiles PROF indicates a. how you would identify a profile such that it can be used as a conformance target (with a PROF definition & a URI) and b. how to link resources to that conformance target (via `ResourceDescriptor` instances). Resources can be associated with roles (`ResourceRole` instances) from an open-ended vocabulary to indicate if they are suitable for validation or related purposes.
