If Profiles 2 and 3 are inconsistent then the statements are simply inconsistent - this is not a problem with the ontology - its a problem with the example. The implication is necessary because without it it is an essentially meaningless relation - and you could just use dct:relation or some other thing like skos:closeMatch.
