kcoyle has just created a new issue for https://github.com/w3c/dxwg: == Profile and Application Profile == The Charter for the deliverable reads: _Guidance on publishing application profiles of vocabularies._ _A definition of what is meant by an application profile and an explanation of one or more methods for publishing and sharing them._ The group to this point has used the term _profile_ not _application profile_. Note some discussion in a previous working document [here](https://www.w3.org/2017/dxwg/wiki/ProfileContext#Term:_application_profile). The is an [ISO/TC 46/SC11N800R1 definition](https://www.w3.org/2017/dxwg/wiki/ProfileContext#ISO.2FTC_46.2FSC11N800R1:_Where_to_start_on_creating_a_metadata_schema) of application profile on that same page. Also, here's the Wikipedia page for [Application Profile](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Application_profile). It is, however, minimal. Other than the Dublin Core definition, a quick web search does not turn up anything that looks to me like a standard definition. The disadvantage that I see regarding "profile" is that it is a very general term, and causes some of the same problems in usage as we see with terms like "resource" or "type". Please view or discuss this issue at https://github.com/w3c/dxwg/issues/448 using your GitHub account
