@kcoyle Now I am confused. I had the impression that we were discussing the current model at https://w3c.github.io/dxwg/profilesont/, and in particular, the diagram at https://w3c.github.io/dxwg/profilesont/profilesont.svg, not @smrgeoinfo's model higher up in this thread. I reacted to your comment that you were "_not convinced that the resource descriptor is necessary_". Your argument, based on the properties for Profile and ResourceDescriptor **in the current model**, seemed to imply you wanted to change the model as it is now, associating the dct:format, prof:hasArtifact and prof:Role directly with prof:Profile and removing the prof:ResourceDescriptor from the model.
